The intersection of business and life.
Level of Impact - A Manifesto
When reading the news or browsing social media, negativity is everywhere: raging wars, poverty, dictators, neglect, the latest diabolical act. We feel powerless and discouraged.
I wholeheartedly reject this message and stand in opposition to it.
The world is bright and beautiful. Technological innovations make our lives better every day. My children have far more opportunities than I had growing up. The phone in my pocket has more technology than the moon landing!
And we can make a difference. Each of us has a “world” we inhabit and interact with every day. We can make a tiny impact right where we are.
Now, at forty, I’ve turned my childhood make-believe “office” game into the real world. And I see work as yet another path to impact. Besides the obvious financial benefits, work offers opportunities for individual growth. Daily, my values are tested. It’s up to us to align our actions with our values again and again.
Ultimately, life is hard, and business can be messy. It’s easy to get lost along the way.
We’re so busy “doing” that we lose sight of the “why” and the “how” of it all.
When we look outside of ourselves to the media inputs of the day, we’re left discouraged and feeling powerless.
What’s the use?
Is there a point to the struggle?
Does it get any better?
Well, at least I’m not as bad as that guy!
Life on the BLVD is a beacon of hope in the pursuit of excellence. An exceptional family life is achievable. Growth through work is the way forward. A good life encompasses all of life—work and family! Let’s walk the path together.
The world says: There is no hope.
I say: I want to be a light.
The world says: Look out for yourself.
I say: Follow the golden rule.
The world says: Success at all costs.
I say: Let’s gather our families around us.
The world says: Nobody is looking.
I say: God sees.
The world says: Cut corners.
I say: Let’s build excellence.
The world says: Things are so bad, you cannot make a difference.
I say: Let’s act for a tiny impact.
A life well loved is better than what the world is selling. That love takes many forms—from those closest to us to those we serve through our business interactions.
I reject being just another business playing by the conventional rules—winner take all be damned.
I am disrupting the sleepy print industry by infusing it with soul and inspiration.
I’m encouraging professionals like you on the journey of business and life.
If this resonates with you, let’s walk this path together.
In the coming quarter, I’ll be launching media in an effort to make a tiny impact.
